Most of our discussions on the Euro focus on our normative concerns and policy issues: What are the reasons for our opposition to the Euro? What would be the contours of an alternative currency system? How do we evaluate recent political developments in this regard?
A different question, one that receives much less attention in our debates, is the question of the likely political and economic course of events. One of our members, Andreas Nölke, has been invited by the online journal “Academic Foresights” to present his future expectations with regard to the Euro – How will the situation likely evolve over the next five years? What are the structural long-term perspectives?
